The exhibition Kykladitisses: Untold Stories of Women in the Cyclades took place on the ground and first floor of the Stathatos Mansion of the Museum of Cycladic Art in Athens. The exhibition pays tribute to the women of the Cyclades from the Neolithic period until the 19th century.

The design seeks to reflect on the many often untold stories recounted throughout the exhibition; of the lives of Cycladic women, and the countless roles they endorsed in the societies of the islands of the Archipelago. Once assembled, these stories form a beautiful tapestry of the past, shedding light on important figures of Ancient Greece.

A sequence of seven off-tune Aegean hues ranging between aqua green and light blue were selected, inspired by the effect of Impressionist Pointillism. These colors were carefully chosen to enhance the natural beauty of each individual artifact, while creating a nuanced backdrop to the entire exhibition. The individual colors act like pixels, allowing for various compositions of blue, are dependent on light and scale, and reflect the ever-changing and transitive nature of the foam of the Aegean Sea.

This playful intervention of color also allowed the exhibition to seamlessly travel to its second location at the Archeological Museum of Thera in Santorini, while maintaining a strong visual identity.
